The Suunto Core All Black is one of the most recognizable outdoor watches ever made, and it has stayed in the line for a simple reason: it does the essential mountain jobs without needing a charger. Its ABC sensor set — barometric altimeter, barometer, and digital compass — runs about 12 months on a user-replaceable CR2032 battery, so it is always ready, whether it has been on your wrist or in a drawer.
The altimeter logs ascent and descent from -500 m to 9,000 m, the barometer plots sea-level pressure trends and sounds a storm alarm when weather moves in, and the compass locks bearings with an orienting indicator. Sunrise/sunset times for your location, dual time, alarm, countdown and stopwatch timers, and a 10 m snorkeling depth meter complete the kit. The matte all-black composite case is water resistant to 30 m and reads cleanly through an electro-luminescent backlight.
