Fusion Marine Remotes: ARX Wireless, NRX300, ERX400 and NRX50

A Fusion system is built around zones, and remotes are how each part of the boat controls its own. The ARX70 wireless remote is a palm-size ANT puck for source, track and zone volume from anywhere within 10 meters. The MS-NRX300 is a wired NMEA 2000 remote that controls up to four zones and shows boat data on its screen. The Apollo MS-ERX400 is the Ethernet remote that unlocks full PartyBus control across multiple Apollo stereos. The MS-NRX50 is a simple IPX7 volume knob on NMEA 2000. All genuine Fusion from DiveCatalog.com, an authorized Garmin dealer. Specifications come from Garmin's official product pages and manuals.

The Lineup in Detail

Fusion ARX Wireless Remote (ARX70)

A 2.56-inch puck that pairs over ANT with compatible Fusion stereos, including the RA60, RA210 and the Apollo series, to cycle sources, play, pause and skip, pick a zone and set its volume from up to 33 feet away. It mounts to a bulkhead or clips in a pocket, is rated IPX6 and IPX7, and runs about three years on a CR2032 coin cell. Available in white or black.

Fusion MS-NRX300 Wired Remote with NMEA 2000

Garmin's words: "enjoy localized audio control from any audio zone onboard your boat." The NRX300 controls up to four zones with local volume and global source selection on a 2.6-inch optically bonded display, and because it sits on the NMEA 2000 bus it also shows heading, speed, depth, position, course and speed over ground, wind and water and air temperature. Powered from the bus, with a 6 meter drop cable, tee and terminators in the box. Works with stereos that list NRX support: the RA210, BB100, RA70N and NSX, and the Apollo RA670, RA770 and WB675.

Fusion Apollo MS-ERX400 Wired Remote with Ethernet (June 2020)

The Apollo remote. One power-over-Ethernet cable gives it a 2.7-inch full-color display behind black glass and complete PartyBus control: group stereos, set volume per stereo or for all at once, power any networked Apollo stereo or remote on and off, and define a Home Zone. Garmin describes it as adding "full control of their audio entertainment to any zone on board and across multiple Apollo Series stereos." It flush or flat mounts in a shallow 49 mm depth, takes over-the-air updates when the network has Wi-Fi, and is rated IPX6 and IPX7 front and back. It is the primary control for the hideaway WB675 and works with the RA670, RA770, RA800 and SRX400.

Fusion MS-NRX50 Volume Controller

The simplest option: an IPX7 knob on NMEA 2000 that controls all zones of a single stereo. Garmin calls it "an easy-to-use IPX-7 rated volume controller," ideal for a flybridge or cockpit where a full remote is more than you need.

Which Remote Do I Need?

Situation Remote
Quick control from the cockpit, bow or swim platform without wiring ARX70 wireless
A second helm or cabin station on a NMEA 2000 boat MS-NRX300
Controlling a hideaway WB675, or several Apollo stereos as one system Apollo MS-ERX400
Just a volume knob at a second position MS-NRX50

Frequently Asked Questions: Fusion Remotes

Does the ERX400 work with the RA210 or RA60?

No. The ERX400 connects over Ethernet to Apollo stereos (RA670, RA770, RA800, SRX400, WB675). The RA210 and BB100 use the NRX300 over NMEA 2000; the RA60 uses the ARX70 wireless remote, the app or a Garmin watch.

Does the NRX300 need its own power?

No. It is powered from the NMEA 2000 bus and ships with a drop cable, tee and terminators.

Can my Garmin quatix replace a remote?

For many uses, yes. The quatix controls Fusion stereos over ANT with the built-in Fusion-Link app. See Garmin marine watches.
