The pattern is simple: 43 mm cases take 20 mm, 47 mm cases take 22 mm, and 51 mm cases take 26 mm, with the Descent G2 (45.5 mm) on 22 mm and the large-format Descent X30 on 26 mm. Band Materials and When to Use Them
Silicone. The everyday and in-water band. Soft, washable, available in the widest range of colors. The Dive Set adds a three-piece configuration with an extra-long adjustment strap that fits around a wetsuit or drysuit sleeve.
UltraFit nylon strap. The lightest option, a single-piece hook-and-loop strap that is popular with runners and ultra athletes because it never pinches and dries fast.
ComfortFit fabric. A woven hook-and-loop band in short and long lengths for all-day comfort.
Leather. Full-grain leather in colors like Walnut, Chestnut, Black and Bone for dress wear. Keep it out of the water.
Titanium and DLC titanium bracelets. Vented titanium or carbon gray DLC-coated titanium links for a watch-first look, including a dedicated DLC titanium dive band in 26 mm. Heavier, but it turns a fenix, quatix or Descent into a bracelet watch.
MARQ collection straps. In 22 mm, Garmin also offers the premium jacquard-weave nylon and leather-FKM hybrid straps from the MARQ line.

How do I know if my Garmin uses QuickFit 20, 22 or 26?
By case size. 43 mm watches use QuickFit 20, 47 mm watches use QuickFit 22, and 51 mm watches use QuickFit 26. Enduro 3 uses 26 mm; Forerunner 970 and Instinct 3 45 mm use 22 mm; Instinct 3 50 mm uses 26 mm.
Do I need tools to change a QuickFit band?
No. Garmin's description is "swap, click and go." Press the QuickFit release on the back of the band, slide it off, and click the new band on until it locks.
Will a 22 mm band from another brand fit a QuickFit watch?
Only if it has the QuickFit connector. Standard spring-bar bands do not fit QuickFit lugs. Genuine Garmin QuickFit bands are the safe choice, especially for diving.
Which band is best for scuba diving?
The silicone Dive Set in your width. The extra-long strap goes over a wetsuit sleeve, and silicone rinses clean after salt water. For a bracelet look that can still get wet, Garmin offers a DLC titanium dive band in 26 mm.
Does the Descent Mk3i use the same bands as the fenix 8?
Yes. The 43 mm Descent Mk3 and Mk3i use QuickFit 20 like the 43 mm fenix 8, and the 51 mm Mk3i uses QuickFit 26 like the 51 mm fenix 8.
