Men's Thermal Packages — Complete Exposure Protection, Properly Fitted

A men's cut wetsuit isn't just a larger version of a women's suit. Torso length, shoulder width, chest shaping, and hip proportions all differ, and a suit cut for the wrong shape leaves gaps that flush cold water no matter how thick the neoprene is. Fit is what makes a wetsuit work, and cut is a large part of fit.

These packages pair a men's wetsuit with the hood, gloves, and boots matched to it — or, in warm-water configurations, a shorty with gloves and boots. Everything rated for the same conditions, sized to work together. At DiveCatalog.com we carry men's thermal packages from Bare and Scubapro as an authorized dealer for both.

The Men's Package Range

Bare Revel

Bare's core men's line, available in 3/2mm, 5mm, and 7mm full packages. A well-rounded suit covering warm through cold water depending on thickness, with the hood, gloves, and boots matched to each. The 2mm Revel shorty package covers tropical diving.

Bare Reactive

Available in 3mm, 5mm, and 7mm full packages — a step up in construction and thermal performance across the same temperature range.

Bare Velocity Ultra 2.0

Bare's premium men's line, in 3mm and 5mm full packages plus an 8/7mm semi-dry configuration for the coldest water short of a drysuit. The semi-dry uses improved seals throughout to dramatically reduce flushing.

Scubapro Definition

Built on Scubapro's Body Map System — a 3D cut with tailored inserts placing stretch where the body needs it and structure where it doesn't. Available in 3mm and 5mm full packages, plus a 2.5mm shorty warm-water package.

Scubapro Everflex Yulex

In 3/2mm and 5/4mm full packages. Yulex is a plant-based alternative to petroleum neoprene, delivering comparable thermal performance and stretch with a substantially lower environmental footprint — a genuine option rather than a compromise.

Scubapro Sport

The 2mm Sport shorty package covers tropical and warm-water diving with gloves and boots included.

Getting the Fit Right

The suit should be snug across the whole body with no loose folds — particularly at the lower back, under the arms, and behind the knees, which are the usual flush points. You should still be able to fill your lungs completely and reach overhead without the suit fighting you.

Measure your chest, waist, hips, height, and weight, and check them against the chart for the specific model. Men's sizing varies considerably between Bare and Scubapro, so don't assume your size carries across. Send us your measurements and we'll confirm.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should a men's wetsuit fit?

Snug everywhere, with no loose folds of neoprene you can pinch. It should feel tight when dry — that's correct. You should still be able to breathe fully and move your arms freely. If it restricts breathing or you can't zip it, size up.

What is Yulex and how does it compare to neoprene?

Yulex is a plant-based rubber that replaces petroleum-derived neoprene. Scubapro's Everflex Yulex suits deliver comparable warmth and stretch to conventional neoprene at the same thickness, with a considerably lower environmental impact in production.

Do I need a hood in warm water?

Generally not above roughly 27°C, which is why warm-water shorty packages include gloves and boots but no hood. Below that, a hood makes a substantial difference to how long you stay comfortable.

Will the boots fit my existing fins?

Check before ordering, particularly with 5mm and 7mm boots. Open heel fins are sized to the boot, and thicker boots need more room. If your fins are sized for thin booties, they may not close over a cold-water boot.
