Garmin Dog Tracking and Training: Alpha, TT 25, T 20 and PRO Series
Garmin's sporting-dog lineup covers two jobs. Tracking is the Alpha family: handhelds and the 10-inch Alpha XL in-vehicle navigator that follow up to 20 dogs at once over VHF radio at ranges up to 9 miles, with location updates as often as every 2.5 seconds, on preloaded TopoActive maps with satellite imagery and public land boundaries. Training is the PRO family built on Garmin's Tri-Tronics technology: one-handed remotes that deliver momentary or continuous stimulation, tone and vibration to a collar at ranges from a mile to four miles, plus the PRO Control 2 launcher remote for bird dogs. The TT 25 collar does both, so one collar on the dog tracks and trains from a single Alpha handheld.
At DiveCatalog.com we carry the Alpha handhelds, Alpha XL, TT 25 and T 20 collars, the Alpha LTE cellular tracker, PRO training systems and the batteries and docks that keep them running, all as an authorized Garmin dealer.
Choose Your Tracking Handheld
Every Alpha handheld tracks up to 20 dogs or handhelds, stores 250 dogs, is rated IPX7, and trains through compatible collars with 18 levels of momentary and continuous stimulation plus tone and vibration. The differences are the screen, the maps, the battery and whether inReach satellite is built in.

Alpha 10: Smallest and Lightest
Garmin calls the Alpha 10 its "smallest and lightest dog tracking and training solution." It tracks up to 20 dogs at up to 9 miles with 2.5-second updates and trains through compatible collars, but leaves the map to your phone over the Alpha app, or works alongside another Garmin handheld. A week of battery and a 5.6 ounce body make it the handheld you forget is in your pocket.
Alpha 200, 200i and 200 Plus
The 3.5-inch touchscreen Alpha 200 family puts the dogs on a real map: preloaded TopoActive, BirdsEye satellite imagery downloaded over Wi-Fi, and public land boundaries. The Alpha 200i adds inReach satellite SOS, two-way messaging, location sharing and weather for hunting beyond cell coverage. The newer Alpha 200 Plus extends battery to 55 hours, adds a user-replaceable battery and USB-C, and brings Channel View to pick less congested radio channels along with hunt metrics.
Alpha 300 and 300i: Built for Garmin Hunting Customers
Launched May 2023, the Alpha 300 series pairs the vivid 3.5-inch touchscreen with 55-hour battery, USB-C, TopoActive maps for the US, Canada and Mexico, Wi-Fi satellite imagery, Channel View and hunt metrics such as treed and on-point status. The Alpha 300i adds inReach SOS and two-way messaging over the global Iridium satellite network, MapShare and inReach weather, running up to 50 hours with satellite enabled.
Alpha XL: The 10-Inch Truck Navigator
The Alpha XL moves dog tracking to the dash. A 10.1-inch dual-orientation touchscreen shows up to 20 dogs on preloaded North America topo and street maps with public land boundaries, private parcels over four acres and USFS roads and trails, stores 250 dogs, and controls 18 levels of stimulation, tone and vibration from the screen. It lifts off its magnetic dock and keeps working wirelessly within 10 feet for up to 2 hours, supports geofencing alerts and collar battery monitoring, and works with the BC 50 backup camera. The VHF dock adds a powered mount, ball mount and antenna adapter.
Collars and Trackers
TT 25 tracking and training collar. VHF tracking up to 9 miles with updates as frequent as every 2.5 seconds, GPS plus Galileo, Dynamic Tracking, a multicolor LED beacon and rescue mode, and 18 levels of continuous or momentary stimulation plus tone and vibration from a compatible handheld. Battery runs 68 hours in dynamic mode (25 hours at 2.5-second updates) on the standard pack and 136 hours with the extended battery pack. User-replaceable battery and flex band, USB-C, Wi-Fi updates, 1 ATM, fits collars up to 1 inch. Works with Alpha 10, 100, 200, 200i, 300, 300i, Alpha XL, Astro 430 and PRO 550 Plus.
T 20 tracking collar. The TT 25 without stimulation: same 9-mile range, 2.5-second updates, LED beacon, battery and handheld compatibility, for dogs that only need to be found.
Alpha LTE collar tracker. A cellular tracker that clips to any collar up to 1 inch wide and reports to the Alpha app over AT&T and T-Mobile LTE, with geofence alerts, an LED beacon and rescue mode. Pair it with a Garmin handheld and you get redundant LTE and VHF tracking with smart switching. Requires Garmin's LTE Dog Tracking Plan.
