Garmin Bounce 2: The Kids Smartwatch That Lets Parents Delay the Smartphone
The Garmin Bounce 2 is an LTE-connected smartwatch built for kids, announced September 2025. It gives children a way to call, text and share their location with a parent-approved circle, and gives parents the controls they actually want: real-time location, boundary alerts, school mode, contact approval and chores with rewards, all managed from the Garmin Jr. app. There is no app store, no social media and no open internet on the watch. Garmin's own words for it: a way for parents to "delay the smartphone."
At DiveCatalog.com we carry the Bounce 2 as an authorized Garmin dealer, in Slate Gray, Light Purple and Turquoise.

What Parents Control from the Garmin Jr. App
Location. See your child's real-time location, get a notification when they enter or leave an area you define, or ask to be told the moment they leave where they are now.
Calls and messages. Two-way calling, voice messages with transcriptions, and text messaging with a full on-watch keyboard and emojis, limited to parent-approved contacts and family group messages. Manage up to 50 contacts.
School mode and quiet time. Silent and silent-restricted modes keep the watch from becoming a classroom distraction.
Assistance. A kid-triggered assistance feature calls family contacts and sends a LiveTrack link with the child's location.
Chores, check-ins and rewards. Assign chores, request check-ins, and let kids earn coins toward rewards you set. Multifamily step challenges keep the whole house moving.
Built for Kids Who Move
The Bounce 2 tracks GPS running, walking and biking, records pool swimming laps, counts steps toward a daily 60-minute activity goal, and follows sleep based on movement. Activity profiles range from pickleball and jump rope to team sports and skiing. On-watch games like Copycat and math flash cards, kid-friendly weather, voice commands and Amazon Music (subscription required) keep it fun without turning it into a phone.

Frequently Asked Questions: Garmin Bounce 2
Does the Garmin Bounce 2 need a phone plan?
It needs Garmin's Kids Smartwatch Plan, available monthly or annually and managed entirely by Garmin. You do not switch phone providers or add a line to your carrier. Calling, texting, voice messaging, location tracking, boundary alerts, assistance and chores all require the plan.
Can my child call anyone?
No. Calls and messages work only with contacts a parent approves in the Garmin Jr. app, up to 50 of them, plus family group messaging.
Is the Bounce 2 waterproof?
It is rated 5 ATM and Garmin calls it swim friendly, with a pool swimming activity that records laps. It is not a dive watch.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 2 days, depending on how much LTE, GPS and music is used.
What ages is the Bounce 2 for?
Garmin positions it for kids who are not ready for a smartphone. The band fits wrists from 115 to 180 mm, which covers most grade-school and middle-school children.
