Scuba Diving Equipment Sales and Customer Service Specialist
About the Role
We're looking for a scuba gear sales specialist to drive sales across our online and retail store. This is first and foremost a sales position for someone who is knowledgeable about recreational scuba equipment β your job is to help customers find the right gear, respond to quotes, complete their order, and build lasting customer relationships. Extensive product knowledge is essential.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, active diver who is passionate about diving and dive gear. You can "talk scuba" β explaining the technical differences between regulators, BCDs, computers, and exposure protection β and translate a customer's needs into the right equipment recommendation, whether they're in the store, on the phone, or chatting online.
This position is open to scuba gear specialists with some experience in the scuba industry.
Core Responsibilities β Sales & Customer Service
- Recommend products and gear packages to customers in person, online, and over the phone
- Provide quotes, follow up on leads, and close sales
- Build product bundles tailored to customer needs and budgets
- Post products for sale online and engage with customers via email and chat
- Answer technical questions and help every customer find the gear that's best for them
Success in this role is measured by
- Customer Satisfaction Rating
- Revenue generated
- Conversion rate
- Reviews and response time
Qualifications
- Proven sales and customer service experience β retail, e-commerce, or dive industry
- Active diver with strong, current knowledge of scuba equipment
- Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, and in writing (email/chat)
- Scuba instructor certification is a plus, not a requirement
Compensation & Level
The position ranges from associate to managerial level depending on experience, with commission available on top of base salary.
