TUSA — Over Seventy Years of Diving Innovation from Japan
TUSA is one of the world's first scuba equipment manufacturers, founded by Kazuo Tabata in Tokyo, Japan in 1952. It began with handmade masks and goggles built in Tabata's garage — and from those origins grew into an international manufacturing organization, operating under the Tabata Co., Ltd. parent company with ISO 9001 certified design, engineering, testing, and manufacturing facilities in Japan and Taiwan, and a global network spanning Australia, the Netherlands, and the United States.
TUSA holds a series of genuine firsts in the diving industry: the brand was the premier manufacturer to introduce crystal (premium) silicone mask skirts with the original Liberator model, and introduced the first range of vibrant colors to diving equipment. Today, TUSA's Freedom Technology — a suite of engineering features for mask fit including the 3D strap design, dimpled skirt surfaces with varied silicone thicknesses, stability ridges, and a low-friction fitting line — defines the comfort standard the brand measures itself against.
At DiveCatalog.com, we carry the full current TUSA lineup as an authorized dealer: masks, snorkels, fins, BCDs, and regulators. Browse the subcategories below or explore the full TUSA catalog here.
The TUSA Product Range
Masks
TUSA's mask range is built around Freedom Technology, which uses a 3D strap following the head's natural curvature, a dimpled silicone skirt with varied thickness for enhanced skin contact and seal, stability ridges to resist compression at depth, and a round-edge skirt profile that reduces facial pressure and creasing. The Paragon S adds CrystalView optical glass with UV 420 and anti-reflective treatment. The Zensee Pro is TUSA's first frameless mask. The Freedom HD delivers a wide single-lens field of view with a 180° rotational buckle. The Tina adds a crystal accent and accessory dock for personalization.

Fins
The Solla uses a three-material composite with ForceElast dual ribs and a concave tip for controlled, consistent stroke propulsion. The Hyflex Zoom combines a split-fin design with six-gill technology for reduced drag. The Travel Right is TUSA's compact barefoot travel fin with Anatomic Fin Strap (AFS) and bungee heel strap.

BCDs
The Liberator jacket-style BCD features the Advanced Weight Loading System III (AWLS III) and an Independent Harness System (IHS) that isolates the harness from the air cell for a stable, secure fit. The T-Wing aluminum harness is a back-inflate configuration for technical and recreational divers wanting a lightweight, configurable platform. The Tina is TUSA's women's BCD with a high-cut waist design. Complete packages pair BCDs with regulators, dive computers, and mesh roller bags.

Regulators
The RS-790 uses the R-700 first stage with a Dry Ambient Pressure Chamber, ribbed top cap for heat transfer (helping prevent cold-water ice formation), and the pneumatically balanced S-90 second stage. The RS1001 is a compact, lightweight balanced diaphragm first stage with a cold-water insulation system. All TUSA regulators are ANSTI machine-tested for inhalation resistance, exhalation resistance, work of breathing, and intermediate pressure before shipping.

Key TUSA Technologies
Freedom Technology: A suite of mask engineering features — 3D strap, dimpled skirt with varied silicone thickness, stability ridges, low-friction fitting line, and round-edge skirt — that together produce a superior seal with reduced facial pressure and creasing.
CrystalView Optical Glass: TUSA's premium lens material, transmitting up to 95% of available light versus the ~85% of standard glass, with UV 420 and anti-reflective treatments on select models. Provides enhanced color, clarity, and contrast underwater.
Advanced Weight Loading System III (AWLS III): TUSA's weight integration system, enabling quick and secure loading of weights into integrated BCD pockets, reducing setup time between dives while maintaining secure retention during the dive.
