The Avid BCD uses a hydrodynamic jacket style bladder and a 3-D designed air cell that wraps around the body for stability, plus a neoprene padded neck roll to keep chafing and irritation out of the picture. Its CQR-3 weight system makes weight insertion and removal straightforward, and the BCD is Pro-Kit Ready if you later add the Sherwood Gemini Breathable Inflator.
Breathing gas comes from the Sherwood SR2 regulator, a Flow Through Piston design that's both environmentally sealed and internally dry, with Sherwood's Three Pin Link (3PL) delivering consistent flow at depth. The second stage is pneumatically balanced with one-touch performance adjustment and is Nitrox ready up to 40%. Backing it up is the Blizzard Pro octopus, built around Sherwood's 9000 Series 1st stage with Air-Assisted Depth-Compensation (A2-DC) technology and suitable for water temperatures as low as 39°F (4°C), with an OPP demand lever and stiffer exhaust valve designed to cut down on ice formation.
Rounding out the package is the 3-Gauge Analog Console, which reads pressure in PSI and BAR, depth in feet and meters, and includes a compass on the flip side for navigation.
