This package puts together the three pieces you need for a complete backplate and wing rig: the OMS Performance Mono Wing, a Stainless Steel Backplate with SmartStream Harness and Crotch Strap, and a Stainless Steel Single Tank Adapter (STA) hardware kit. The Performance Mono Wing is a donut-style, single-tank bladder built from a 1000 denier Cordura outer shell around a removable, heavy-duty polyurethane bladder, with integrated cam band slots so it mounts to the backplate without a separate adapter for the wing itself. Choose 27lb or 32lb of lift depending on your cylinder and exposure protection.

The backplate carries the OMS SmartStream harness, which uses a continuous run of 2 in nylon webbing (11.5 ft) and 316 stainless steel D-rings, plus a sewn 2 in crotch strap with a DPV D-ring to keep everything from riding up mid-dive. The stainless steel backplate itself adds about 5 lb of ballast carried high on your back, and its 1 in and 2 in slots leave room to mount lights, pockets, or other accessories. You can also pick your backplate and harness combination at checkout: stainless or aluminum backplate, paired with either the SmartStream harness or the Comfort Harness III.

Rounding out the rig, the stainless steel Single Tank Adapter (STA) is a hardware-only kit that mounts to the backplate and lets you run a single cylinder on a harness built around cam bands or a backplate setup. It's compatible with OMS harnesses and the IQ Backpack, and it ships with all the hardware needed to bolt it onto the backplate, so the wing, harness, and adapter go together as one working single-tank system.

How much heavier is a stainless steel backplate than aluminum, and does it act as extra weight?

The fact pack only gives the stainless backplate's own weight, about 5 lb (2.3 kg), which is carried high and centered on your back and can offset some ballast you'd otherwise wear elsewhere. We don't have a comparison figure for an aluminum backplate, so we can't quantify the difference.

Is the harness hardware corrosion-resistant for saltwater diving?

The SmartStream harness uses 2 inch nylon webbing (11.5 ft / 3.5 m) with 316 marine-grade stainless steel D-rings, which are built to resist saltwater corrosion. The backplate itself is stainless steel, and a sewn crotch strap with a DPV D-ring is included.
