Product Information

Edge 550 and Edge 850 are the current mid-size Garmin cycling computers, sharing a 2.7-inch 420 x 600 liquid crystal color display, Wi-Fi, ANT+ and Bluetooth, and up to 12 hours of battery in demanding use or 36 hours in battery saver mode.

The difference between them is control and storage. Edge 850 adds a touchscreen alongside its buttons and carries 64 GB of internal memory; Edge 550 is button-driven, which many riders prefer in rain or with full-finger gloves, and carries 32 GB. Both weigh close enough to be identical on the bars — 110 g and 113 g.

Both units hold 200 hours of ride history, 100 courses and 200 saved locations, offer event-specific daily workout suggestions, control smart trainers, pair with power meters, and include incident detection that covers off-road riding.
