Product Information

The Bare 3/2 MM Nixie Ultra OMNIRED Infrared Technology and Full-Stretch Construction Womens Scuba Diving Wetsuit is a women's full wetsuit built for scuba diving in varied underwater environments, combining 3/2 mm Progressive Full-Stretch neoprene with OMNIRED Infrared Technology for added thermal warmth. It is offered in Black and Grey Heather and uses a 19 in back zipper with heavy-duty ankle zippers for easier donning and doffing.

Who it is for

This suit is sized and styled for adult female divers who want warmth without giving up mobility for scuba and diving. The 3/2 mm thickness balances insulation with freedom of movement, so it suits divers who prioritize an unrestricted stroke and kick while still wanting a snug, secure, low-flush fit.

Key details

  • Neoprene: 3/2 mm Progressive Full-Stretch construction for flexibility and warmth.
  • Thermal: OMNIRED Infrared Technology for enhanced thermal warmth.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should a wetsuit fit?

A wetsuit should feel snug everywhere, with no loose pockets at the lower back, armpits, or behind the knees where water can collect and flush. It will feel tighter than normal clothing on land, which is expected, because the suit works by holding a thin layer of water that your body warms. If you cannot take a full breath or the neck chokes you it is too small, and if you can pinch loose folds of neoprene it is too big.

What do you wear under a wetsuit?

Most divers wear a swimsuit, a rash guard, or a thin dive-specific base layer under a wetsuit. A slick base layer makes a tight suit much easier to pull on and cuts down chafing at the neck, shoulders, and underarms. Avoid thick cotton clothing, which soaks up water, bunches, and makes you colder rather than warmer.

How do you put on a tight wetsuit?

Work upward in small sections, pulling a little neoprene at a time rather than yanking on one spot, and get the suit fully seated at the ankles and knees before working on the hips and shoulders. A plastic bag over each foot and hand, or wetting the suit first, helps it slide into place. Grip with flat palms rather than fingertips, since fingernails are the most common cause of torn neoprene.

Does a thicker wetsuit mean a warmer wetsuit?

As a general rule, thicker neoprene insulates more, so a higher millimeter rating is warmer in the same conditions. Warmth also depends heavily on fit, suit style, seam construction, whether you add a hood, boots, and gloves, how long the dive is, and your own cold tolerance, so two divers in identical suits can feel very differently. Use thickness as a starting point and refine it against your local conditions and personal experience.

How do I care for and store a wetsuit?

Rinse it inside and out in fresh water after every dive day, and use a wetsuit-specific wash occasionally to control odor. Dry it inside-out first and then flip it, always out of direct sunlight, because UV and heat break down neoprene faster than anything else. Store it hanging on a wide-shouldered hanger or laid flat rather than folded, so you do not set permanent creases.

How long does a wetsuit last?

Lifespan depends far more on use and care than on age, so a suit dived hard in sun and chlorine may soften within a couple of seasons while a well-rinsed occasional-use suit can last many years. Signs a suit is finished include compressed neoprene that no longer feels buoyant or warm, splitting seams, and looseness in areas that used to be snug. Repairing small cuts and seam separations early adds meaningfully to a suit's life.

What is the difference between a full suit, a shorty, and wetsuit separates?

A full suit covers arms and legs, a shorty stops at the upper arms and thighs, and separates such as tops, bottoms, and hooded vests layer to add warmth where you want it. Layering a vest or top under a full suit adds core warmth and can extend the range of a suit you already own. Choose based on how much coverage you want, both for warmth and for protection against stings and abrasion.

What does OMNIRED Infrared Technology do in the Nixie Ultra?

OMNIRED Infrared Technology is integrated into the Nixie Ultra to provide enhanced thermal warmth. It works alongside the 3/2 mm Progressive Full-Stretch neoprene, the IGLIDESKIN collar's reduced flushing and rolled Glideskin wrist seals that minimize water entry. Because warmth also depends on fit, dive length and whether you add a hood, boots or gloves, choose your size carefully for the best result.

What do the T and + sizes mean on this Bare wetsuit?

In the Black colorway this suit is offered in regular sizes 02 through 14, tall sizes marked T (04T, 06T, 08T) and plus-proportioned sizes marked with a plus sign (06+, 08+, 10+, 12+). Grey Heather is offered in regular sizes 04, 06, 08, 10, 12 and 14.

How does the Nixie Ultra 3/2mm zip and how hard is it to get on?

It uses a 19 in back zipper as the main entry, plus a front neck zipper and heavy-duty ankle zippers that open the cuffs so your feet pass through more easily. The hook-and-loop collar adjustment fine-tunes the neck, and a booklet-style Suit Saver helps prevent snags while you wear it.

Is this wetsuit suitable for use with scuba gear?

Yes. The Nixie Ultra 3/2mm is a women's scuba diving wetsuit designed to be worn with dive equipment such as a BCD and other underwater gear. Armor-Flex kneepads protect against abrasion and snares in challenging underwater terrain. Seamless underarms support comfort, and flat seams keep stretch high for an unrestricted range of motion.

Written reviews are still few for this one. It is a women's 3/2 mm full wetsuit from Bare with OMNIRED infrared technology for added warmth and Progressive Full-Stretch construction for mobility. It has an IGLIDESKIN collar with hook-and-loop adjustment, a front neck zipper, a 19 inch back zipper, heavy-duty ankle zippers, seamless underarms, flat seams, rolled Glideskin wrist seals, and Armor-Flex kneepads. Every BARE item I’ve had fits me like a glove

Every BARE item I’ve had fits me like a glove.

I have 4 wetsuits and 3 of them are BARE. I am 47 years old, 5’7”, 155-165 lbs (varies) with evenly distributed weight. Bra size 36B, waist and hips size 8-10. The women’s BARE size 10 is perfect. I have a 3mm and 5mm EVOKE, as well as a 3mm NIXIE. I’ve tried other brands but they’re usually too big in the chest and too tight around the hips for me. BARE is spot on! I highly recommend BARE suits for women.

I also had a great experience with DiveCatalog.com. Will continue to shop here.
