The Flex-Connect YS Adapter easily connects any underwater light or flash using a YS mount to Flex-Connect grips, trays, arms, cold shoe mount, and other accessories – with no need to worry about compatibility issues. The YS Adapter rotates on its base left and right, and has up and down directional control by angling the light on the mount.

Does the SeaLife YS Adapter include the butterfly screw for mounting a light?

No. The adapter itself does not include a butterfly screw. The butterfly screw that controls the up and down pivot angle is supplied with the underwater light or flash you are attaching, not with the SL994 adapter.

Will the YS Adapter work with any YS-mount light, or only SeaLife lights?

The YS Adapter is designed to work with any underwater light or flash that uses a standard YS mount, not just SeaLife lighting. It connects that YS-mount device to SeaLife Flex-Connect grips, trays, arms, and cold shoe mount accessories.

What materials is the SeaLife YS Adapter made of?

The adapter is made from black polycarbonate (PC) with a grey rubber O-ring. It weighs 1.3 oz / 36 g and is negatively buoyant, so it will sink if detached underwater rather than float away.

Can the YS Adapter rotate and tilt once a light is attached?

Yes. The adapter rotates a full 360 degrees left to right on its base. Up and down tilt is controlled separately by loosening or tightening the butterfly screw on the attached light or device, since the adapter itself does not include a tilt mechanism.
