Frequently Asked Questions
What edge does the Seac Rapid knife have?
The Seac Rapid has a 4.13 inch stainless steel blade with a smooth edge on one side and a serrated edge covering half the length on the other side. This combination lets a diver cut line or webbing cleanly with the smooth edge and saw through tougher material with the serrated section.
How do you attach the Seac Rapid knife underwater?
The rigid scabbard allows hooking the knife on both sides and has two slots so it can be attached to a belt. It also comes with two included straps for fastening the knife to an arm or calf instead, so divers can choose the mounting position that works best for their gear setup.
Is the Seac Rapid knife scabbard watertight?
No, the scabbard is not watertight. Seac recommends rinsing the knife and scabbard separately in fresh water and drying both thoroughly with fabric or absorbent paper after every dive, even on dives where the knife was only worn and not used.
Is the Seac Rapid knife suitable for spearfishing?
Yes, the Seac Rapid is designed for scuba diving, freediving and spearfishing. Its stainless steel blade combines a smooth edge and a serrated edge for half the length, giving spearfishers a tool that can cut line and rigging as well as cordage or netting.
