How long is the L/2 Fiber-Optic Cable II, and how do the S and M versions compare?

The L/2 connector version, product number 50133, has a total length of 725 mm, which is 28.5 inches. Sea & Sea publishes the same cable in two shorter lengths: the S/2 connector (50135) at 310 mm and the M/2 connector (50128) at 453 mm. Choose the L length when your strobe sits far from the housing or the cable has to route around arms, ports or handles.

Why does a 613 core fiber bundle matter?

The Fiber-Optic Cable II uses a bundle of 613 fiber cores inside one strand instead of a single solid fiber. That construction keeps attenuation of light minimal even when the cable is bent, so the flash start and stop signal reaches the strobe without loss. It also makes the cable more resistant to distortion, bending and physical impact than single fiber cable types.

Can I use this cable with the Sea & Sea optical converter?

No. Per Sea & Sea's FAQ, the L-type cable is not used with the optical converter; those configurations call for the standard Fiber-Optic Cable II instead.
