Day to day, the watch tracks wrist-based heart rate, Pulse Ox, sleep, and HRV status, then rolls it into a Health Snapshot that syncs to the Garmin Connect app on iOS or Android over Bluetooth, ANT+, or Wi-Fi. Battery life runs up to 18 days in smartwatch mode, so charging is not a nightly chore, and the built-in flashlight with variable intensity and a red-light mode covers early starts, late finishes, or just finding your keys in a dark tent.

The 20 mm Garmin band rounds out the package. It is Garmin's own replacement strap, built in silicone with the factory keeper and buckle, sized for the same 20 mm lug width as the Instinct E 40 mm case in this bundle, so it goes on the same way the stock band does.
