Product Information
The Approach Z82 combines a golf laser rangefinder with full GPS course mapping, and shows both through the same viewfinder. A full-colour OLED display overlays 2D course maps on the optical view, so the hole layout and the ranged distance appear together rather than on a separate screen.
The laser ranges the flag to 450 yards (411 m) with accuracy to within 10 inches (25 cm), at 6x magnification, and it is a Class 1 laser. Image stabilisation steadies the view for a cleaner lock, and flag finder confirms the pin with a visual indicator and vibration feedback. Green View appears automatically when the flag is lasered.
On the GPS side the unit carries more than 43,000 preloaded courses worldwide and provides yardage to the front, middle and back of the green, yardages to layups and doglegs, hazards and course targets, full vector mapping, PinPointer for blind shots, PlaysLike distance adjusted for elevation, measured shot distance, a digital scorecard, stat tracking for strokes, putts, greens and fairways hit, and handicap scoring. Wind speed and direction are available when connected to the Garmin Golf app.
Power comes from an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery good for up to 15 hours in GPS mode, charged over USB. Tournament mode can be enabled for competition play, with an indicator light confirming it.
In the box: Approach Z82 laser rangefinder, carry case with carabiner clip, microUSB cable and documentation. The unit measures 4.8 x 3.1 x 1.7 in (122.9 x 80.0 x 42.1 mm), weighs 8.2 oz (232 g) and is rated IPX7. Rounds, scorecards and stats sync to the Garmin Golf app, where they can be reviewed after the round.
