The Alpha 300 is the current full-size handheld in Garmin's dog tracking line: a 3.5-inch transflective colour touchscreen that stays readable in the sun, 16 GB of storage, preloaded TopoActive mapping and satellite imagery you can pull straight to the device with no annual subscription. It tracks up to 20 assets at once, any mix of compatible collars and other handhelds, out to a stated 9 miles on the MURS band, and it drives the training functions on a paired TT 25.

The 300i is the same handheld with Garmin's inReach technology built in. On an active satellite subscription it adds two-way text messaging to phones, email and other inReach devices, location exchange, MapShare waypoint sharing and interactive SOS through the Garmin Response coordination centre. That is the version to take where there is no cell service and someone at home needs to hear from you.

Both run a rechargeable lithium-ion pack rated up to 55 hours — about 50 on the 300i with inReach enabled — charge over USB-C, and carry a barometric altimeter and a tilt-compensated three-axis compass. Choose the Alpha 300 with an Alpha TT 25 collar if you are starting from nothing; the handheld-only options assume you already have collars.

Sizing runs small

These shorts look to be excellent quality. Ample pockets with enough room for my purpose. Scubapro sizing chart is way off. My wetsuits are size M and are a little loose. I am 5lbs below the minimum weight on the size chart and cannot get these over my thighs.

Very nice quality, easier than expected to get off and on for a thicker wetsuit. Seems true to size. This paticular suit fits tighter than some but that’s part of the product design.

Economical and Versatile Fins ForThis Beginner

Took these to French Polynesia and they were super light to carry around all the different islands me, varied easily in the plane. They handled well in the open ocean, and were excellent for lagoon use. Very durable, I know I’ll get many years of use with these fins. Can be worn alone but I felt most comfortable with the use of a boot

Love them!

I really like these weight pockets. They’re just large enough to fit individual weights and they are small enough to be complete out of the way and you don’t even realize they’re on your BCD.

Only downfall or dislike, which is completely 100% nothing big….is the lettering isn’t highlighted the same as it is on the larger weight pocket lids. A small detail but it does almost make the lids look like they’re after market and not meant for the Scubapro BCD.
