Product Information
Alpha 10 is the pocket-sized way into the Alpha system. At 5.6 ounces with the antenna and spine mount fitted it is roughly half the weight of a full-size Alpha handheld, and it is built around a 1.8-inch monochrome memory-in-pixel display that is genuinely readable in direct sunlight.
It gives you the tracking and training controls without the map screen: direction and distance to each dog on the device itself, with full maps handled on your phone through the Garmin Explore app over Bluetooth. Stated range is 9 miles with TT and T series collars, 4 miles with the mini versions, and it stores up to 10 days of tracks.
The internal battery is rated to about a week of use, or 40 hours of active tracking, and charges over microUSB. A tilt-compensated three-axis compass and a high-sensitivity GPS and Galileo receiver handle positioning.
