Product Information
The Dive Rite Nomad Ray Sidemount System is a technical sidemount BCD developed through years of design, field testing, and feedback from sidemount divers and instructors. The harness holds a flat, streamlined profile and an ergonomic shape that sits close against the diver’s body, keeping the wing at the diver’s fulcrum for stable trim. With 42 pounds (19 kg) of lift, this sidemount system supports heavy steel cylinders along with multiple stage or deco bottles, and works equally well with aluminum tanks in warm water.
The outer shell combines SuperFabric® material with 600 denier nylon across the backside center panel and 1000 denier nylon on the diver’s side, over a laminated heavy-duty 420 denier nylon inner bladder. A 16 inch (30.4 cm) corrugated hose with an inflate/deflate valve can be configured on the left or right side to suit the diver’s preference. Marine-grade stainless steel hardware runs throughout, including two angled shoulder D-rings, two angled waist D-rings, two sliding waist D-rings, and two chest bungee retainers.
The harness is fully adjustable in a one-size-fits-all format built on user-replaceable 2-inch webbing, so shoulder and waist sections can be swapped independently if damaged or trimmed short. Each side adjustment uses 42 inches of diamond braid bungee, and three padded internal weight pockets hold up to five pounds of hard or soft weight. A 2 inch (5 cm) padded crotch strap with a scooter ring completes the sidemount rig. The bailout bladder configuration adds a second bladder with 25 pounds (11.3 kg) of lift and one pound to the dry weight. Made in the USA.
