Product Information

The Dive Rite Backplate Spine Pad places contoured quick-dry foam along the diver’s spine to shield pressure points against a metal backplate, without the bulk of a full backplate pad. The minimalist shape covers only where the plate contacts the back.

Mesh airflow channels drain the pad immediately topside and resist compression, so it holds its thickness and cushioning at depth rather than flattening out. The pad is encased in 1000 denier ballistic nylon for tear and abrasion resistance.

Installation works with any standard backplate and harness: the crotch strap weaves through the 2 inch plastic loop at the bottom of the pad, and two webbing wings tuck into the top cam strap slots on the plate. The pad swings down out of the way for full access to the backplate.
