Description

The Atomic Aquatics Z3 Octopus is an alternate air source, or backup second stage, designed to let a diver share air with a buddy in an out-of-air situation. It pairs a high-visibility yellow second-stage cover with a 36-inch yellow low-pressure hose, making the octopus easy to locate and pass off underwater. This version uses a straight hose with no swivel and carries the same Zirconium-plated brass and titanium internal components found across the Z3 second stage for corrosion resistance and dependable performance.

Breathing performance comes from a pneumatically balanced second stage with a high-flow case and lever that deliver consistent airflow across depths and tank pressures. The patented Atomic Aquatics Automatic Flow Control (AFC) adjusts the Venturi effect automatically to help prevent free-flow while the octopus is not in use, and a soft overmolded Rapid Adjustment Knob allows manual detuning for octo use or surf entries. A Titanium Seat Saving Dynamic Orifice maintains factory tuning, an elliptical exhaust valve lowers exhalation effort at depth, and a dual-silicone comfort-fit mouthpiece with tear-resistant bite tabs adds comfort and durability. The Z3 Octopus is nitrox ready for non-dedicated EAN use with mixtures up to 40 percent.
