• Semi-dry — a splash guard deflects surface chop without fully sealing. Simpler, lighter, and adequate in most conditions, with occasional clearing needed.
• Open top — no mechanism at all. Unobstructed airflow, cleared with a sharp exhale. Preferred by freedivers and many technical divers for its simplicity and low profile.
