The SeaLife Sea Dragon 2500F Light Head (item SL6712) is a 2500 lumen underwater photo and video light built around a single Vero 18 COB LED array, delivering a 90 Color Rendering Index at 5000K through a 120° in-air beam (90° underwater) and depth tested to 330 ft (100 m). It is sold as a light head only, so it is the piece you add when you already own a Flex-Connect tray and grip.

This light suits underwater photographers and videographers who want to restore the reds and warm tones that water absorbs, and divers who shoot with wide field of view cameras such as the SeaLife Micro-Series or a GoPro. Does the Sea Dragon 2500F Light Head include a tray and grip?
No. Item SL6712 is the light head only, intended for divers who already own a Flex-Connect set and want to expand it, such as building a dual light rig. The head does ship with its 25Wh Li-Ion battery, AC power adapter and charging tray, international plug adapters, spare o-rings with lubricant, an o-ring removal tool and the instruction manual. The complete Sea Dragon 2500F set adds a Flex-Connect single tray, grip and fitted case.
How long does the battery last and how long does it take to charge?
The included 7.4V, 3400 mAh, 25Wh Lithium Ion battery runs the light for 60 minutes at full power, 120 minutes at half power and 240 minutes at quarter power. Charge time is 170 minutes using the supplied AC power adapter and charging tray, and international plug adapters are included for travel. The battery is removable, and regulated circuitry holds output at 2500 lumens rather than dimming as the charge drops.
Will the Sea Dragon 2500F work with a GoPro or a SeaLife Micro camera?
Yes. The light head mounts through the Flex-Connect system, which works with SeaLife Micro-Series cameras and GoPro devices on Flex-Connect trays, grips, flex arms and ball joint adapters. The 120° in-air beam, about 90° underwater, is a good match for the wide field of view of those cameras and spreads light evenly with no hot spots.
Can I use this light above water?
SeaLife advises against prolonged above water use because the light is designed for underwater use and needs water to displace heat. At full power in air the metal head can reach about 140F (60C) within a few minutes, which may cause burns if touched. A thermal sensor automatically dims the light if internal temperature reaches 150F (65C). Turn the light off immediately if any part becomes hot to the touch.
