Product Information

The Scubapro NovaScotia Steamer 7.5mm Women's Semi-Drysuit with Hood is a steamer-style semi-dry wetsuit built from 7.5mm (7.6/6.5mm construction) Everflex neoprene with an integrated hood, positioned between a traditional wetsuit and a neoprene drysuit.

Who it is for

This suit suits women divers heading into cooler local or seasonal waters who want a snug, flexible fit that limits water intrusion without stepping up to a full drysuit and its training requirements. The rear waterproof zipper, double-zippered wrist and ankle seals, and integrated hood make it a practical choice for repeat dives in the 45°F to 54°F range where mobility and a quick, reliable donning routine matter.

Key details

  • Thickness: approximately 7.6/6.5mm Everflex neoprene construction
  • Seams: glued and blind-stitched to block water entry
  • Main zipper: rear YKK Aquaseal Vislon waterproof back zip with heavy-duty slider
  • Seals: double-zippered ankles and wrists with KA brass sliders
  • Lining: plush interior in the arms, legs and shoulders for warmth and stretch

  • Integrated hood with a 3D thigh pocket and external hood hook, plus I-Safe straps on both arms for instrument mounting

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the NovaScotia a wetsuit or a drysuit?

It is a semi-dry suit, which SCUBAPRO positions between a traditional wetsuit and a neoprene drysuit. The 7.5mm Everflex neoprene, glued and blind-stitched seams, waterproof YKK Aquaseal Vislon back zipper and double-zippered wrist and ankle seals greatly reduce water exchange, but you will still take on a small amount of water that your body then warms. It is CE certified as a Class A dive suit.

What water temperatures is the NovaScotia 7.5mm rated for?

SCUBAPRO rates the NovaScotia Semi-Dry for water temperatures of 45 to 54°F (7 to 12°C). The 7.6/6.5mm Everflex neoprene, integrated hood and plush lining in the arms, legs and shoulders supply the insulation, while the waterproof back zip and double-zippered extremity seals limit flushing during the dive.

Does it come with the hood, and does it have a pocket?

Yes. The hood is integrated into the suit, so nothing separate is needed, and the suit ships as a steamer with the attached hood. For storage there is a 3D thigh pocket with an external hood hook on the outside, and both arms have I-Safe straps so you can mount instruments where they stay readable.

What sizes are available and how much does the suit weigh?

The NovaScotia Semi-Dry is offered in Black in S, M, MT, L, LS, LT, XL, XLS, XLT, 2XL, 2XLT, 3XL and 4XL, so short and tall builds are covered. Weight and length change with size: size M is listed at 7.38 lb and 57.5 in, while size 4XL is 9.09 lb and 64.3 in.

What sizes does the women's Scubapro NovaScotia come in?

This women's NovaScotia semi-dry suit is offered in Black in sizes XS, S, M, LS, L, XLS, XL and 2XL. The LS and XLS options are Large Short and X-Large Short, giving divers with a shorter torso or leg length a better fit than standard sizing alone.

Can the NovaScotia 7.5mm be used in water warmer than 54°F?

Scubapro rates the NovaScotia Semi-Dry for water temperatures of 45°F to 54°F (7°C to 12°C). The 7.6/6.5mm Everflex neoprene and waterproof back zip are built around that range, so diving above it may feel warmer than intended since the suit is designed and certified specifically for cooler water.

Is the NovaScotia suit made with any eco-friendly materials or processes?

Yes. The suit uses 100% Everflex X-Foam neoprene, which is petroleum-free, and it is assembled using a solvent-free, or green, glue process rather than traditional solvent-based adhesives.
