The SS1 Safe Second — Atomic's BCD Integration System
The SS1 is one of Atomic's most distinctive accessories: it's simultaneously a fully functional BCD power inflator and an emergency second-stage regulator in a single unit. In a standard diving configuration, the BC1 or BC2 power inflator is replaced with the SS1, which connects via quick-disconnect to a standard LP hose. In an out-of-air emergency, a dive buddy can access the SS1 as a conventional second stage without needing to locate a separate octopus on a long hose.
