Description

Representing a major step in wetsuit innovation, the Reactive 3mm uses Graphene OMNIRED, a responsive textile that warms the wearer using their own body heat. By tapping this heat-capturing technology, the Reactive can insulate for hours without skipping a beat. The body-responsive effects of Graphene, combined with the power of OMNIRED, allow divers to maximize their comfort on every dive. In fact, lab tests have shown a 5-degree Celsius average temp increase over the original OMNIRED Technology. Fundamentally, Graphene is a one-atom-thick layer of carbon arranged in a hexagonal lattice structure. At room temperature, it’s one of the best conductors of thermal energy ever discovered. Materially, Graphene is strong, flexible, lightweight and, of course, highly conductive—all traits that are well suited for use in a wetsuit. But we didn’t stop at the lining. In a step toward sustainable design, the Reactive is made from a clean limestone-based foam that minimizes pollution while performing at the same level (or higher) as petroleum-based alternatives. Dope-dyed fibers cut pollution and wastewater discharge in our textile operations, and water-based glue—rather than solvent—perform over the long life of your suit while sparing the air of unclean toxins during the production process.

Features

  • Graphene OMNIRED delivers unparalleled insulation
  • Limestone-based foam that cuts pollution, but not performance
  • Dope-dyed fibers cut pollution and wastewater discharge
  • Water-based glue spares the air of unclean toxins
  • Hook-and-loop adjustment on collar features a booklet-style cover, to protect your suit from snags and pilling
  • Seamless underarms for superior comfort and mobility
  • Extra-long (21”) S-Lock2 back zipper with offset tooth design and PU coated zip tape guards against water entry
  • Skin-to-skin double internal sealing zipper flap
  • Full length puller with silicon print for easy grip; grip tab at base of the zipper
  • Armor Flex 2.0 highly flexible, durable, abrasion resistant 3-D kneepads
  • Anatomically correct pattern for three dimension fit throughout
  • Specifications

  • ELASTEK FULL-STRETCH neoprene combined with Graphene OMNIRED fabric for our highest degree of warmth, stretch and comfort
  • Reactive uses Graphene OMNIRED technology to turn wasted body heat into usable infrared energy. The lining is enhanced with 13 thermoreactive minerals woven into the fabric of the wetsuit that react to your body heat converting it to infrared energy and reflecting it back to the body increasing circulation and body warmth.
  • Using our patented No Stitch Technology (NST) process, until now only found in our drysuits, Reactive is made without a single seam stitch keeping you drier, warmer and diving longer

    Frequently Asked Questions

What does BARE's OMNIRED Infrared Technology actually do?

OMNIRED weaves 13 thermo-reactive minerals into the suit's fabric that convert your outbound body heat into infrared energy and reflect it back to you — BARE's claimed benefits are added warmth, better circulation, and steadier temperature regulation. The current generation adds graphene to the mix, which BARE's lab testing showed improved heat reflection by an average of about 5°C over the original OMNIRED fabric.

Which wetsuit thickness do I need for my water temperature?

BARE's official guidance: above 75°F (24°C), a 3–5mm; from 68–75°F (20–24°C), a 5–7mm; below 68°F (20°C), a 7mm or more; and below 50°F (10°C), BARE recommends moving to a drysuit. Everyone's cold tolerance differs — if you tend to run cold or do long repetitive dives, size the thickness up a step.

How do BARE Reactive and Evoke wetsuits fit, and what sizes exist?

This is where BARE stands out: the men's Reactive runs XS through 4XL including Short and Tall variants, and the women's Evoke runs sizes 2–14 including Tall and Plus cuts — far more real-body coverage than most wetsuit lines. Both use seamless underarms, double GLIDESKIN wrist and ankle seals, and a G-Lock 2 back zipper with an internal sealing flap and spine pad. Between sizes? Send us your measurements — wetsuit fit is everything.

What warranty do BARE wetsuits have?

BARE covers all wetsuits with a 2-year warranty on workmanship and materials for defects, with repair or replacement at BARE's option. Normal wear, misuse, and unauthorized repairs are excluded. (The longer 7-year seam coverage you may have read about applies to BARE drysuits, not wetsuits.)
