Product Information
Better to have a knife and not need it, than to need a knife and not have it. At the same time, you don't want to swim around with a Samurai sword strapped to your leg. This is where the MAKO STAINLESS excels. It is compact enough to easily strap to a leg or forearm or mount on a BCD, yet its large enough to hold onto with confidence when it's time to do some cutting. The MAKO’s multi-function blade has a serrated edge for sawing through rope, a conventional edge for making clean slicing cuts, a line-cutting notch, and a bottle opener. The Tanto tip, with its angled shape, is one of the strongest knife points available and, combined with the different blade edges, makes the MAKO STAINLESS an excellent general-purpose dive knife.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Scubapro Mako knife attach to my gear?
The Mako ships with an injection-molded sheath and a BCD mounting kit, so you can attach it directly to a BCD. Scubapro also lists leg strap and forearm carry as options, and the knife is compact enough for both. The sheath uses a one-hand release locking mechanism so you can draw and re-secure the knife with a single hand. A replacement Mako sheath and Mako strap are available separately.
Is the Mako a blunt tip or pointed tip knife?
It is a pointed knife. Scubapro's feature text describes the tip as a Tanto-style angled, strong point design for controlled penetration. Note that Scubapro's own specification table for this item lists the tip style as clip point while the feature text calls it Tanto-style, so the wording varies on the manufacturer's page.
What can the Mako cut underwater?
The Mako has three cutting options. The serrated edge is intended for sawing through heavier rope and branches, the conventional smooth edge slices numerous materials, and the line-cutting notch is designed for small rope and fishing line. The 3.5 inch 304-grade hard-tempered stainless steel blade is sized for recreational and professional service diving tasks.
Is there a titanium version of the Mako knife?
Yes. Scubapro also lists the Mako Titanium Dive Knife with the same 3.5 inch blade length as a related upgrade option. The model shown on this page is the stainless version, item number 32.023.000, built from 304-grade hard-tempered stainless steel. If you are deciding between the two, call or chat with our Irvine, California shop and we can walk you through the differences.
