Product Information
The Shearwater Tern is a watch-style dive computer designed for recreational scuba diving and freediving. Its 1.3-inch (3.3 cm) full-color AMOLED display delivers a 360 x 360 pixel resolution at a typical brightness of 350 nits, and it is protected by a toughened alkali-aluminosilicate glass lens with a screen protector pre-installed. Depth rated to 120 m / 394 ft, the Tern runs the Buhlmann ZHL-16C decompression algorithm with gradient factors, offering preset low, medium, and high conservatism settings as well as user-customized gradient factors.
The Tern covers Air, Nitrox, 3 Gas Nitrox, Gauge, and Freedive modes, so a single dive computer can move between open-circuit scuba diving and breath-hold diving. An internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 20 hours of dive time at medium brightness and around 6 months on standby, and it recharges on the included wireless inductive charging station with USB-C cable. Bluetooth connectivity handles dive log downloads and firmware updates, while switchable vibration alerts replace audible alarms for discreet notifications underwater. A 500-hour dive log at a 10-second sample rate, three customizable clock faces, and 15 configurable display colors round out the everyday-wearable design, which pairs a ballistic nylon polymer case with a stainless steel bezel and buttons on quick-release 22 mm Remora straps.
