Product Information

The SeaLife DC-Series 52-67mm Step-up Ring (SL978) is a screw-on threaded ring that converts 52mm threads to 67mm threads, letting divers attach 67mm lenses or filters to a SeaLife DC-series camera. It is made of black anodized aluminum and mounts onto the SL977 52mm Adapter or the SportDiver Lens Adapter (SL081), both sold separately.

Who it is for

This ring is for divers and underwater photographers who already shoot with a SeaLife DC-series camera, such as the DC2000 or DC1400, and have an SL977 52mm Adapter or SportDiver Lens Adapter (SL081) mounted to their housing. It allows 67mm lenses or filters to be attached to a SeaLife DC-series camera.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I attach the SL978 step-up ring directly to my SeaLife camera housing?

No. The SL978 is a ring only and screws onto the SL977 52mm Adapter or the SportDiver Lens Adapter (SL081), both sold separately. One of those adapters must already be mounted on your SeaLife DC-series housing before the step-up ring can be attached.

Which SeaLife cameras work with the 52-67mm step-up ring?

Through the SL977 52mm Adapter, the SL978 step-up ring works with the SeaLife DC2000, DC1400, and previous DC-series cameras. Confirm your camera uses the SL977 or SportDiver Lens Adapter (SL081) before ordering, since the ring itself has no direct mount to the housing.

What exactly comes in the box with the SL978?

The package contains the 52-67mm step-up ring only. It does not include the SL977 52mm Adapter or the SportDiver Lens Adapter (SL081), which are required separately to mount the ring to a SeaLife DC-series camera housing.

Why does the step-up ring weigh different amounts in different conditions?

SeaLife lists the SL978 at 12.3g on land, 8.3g in freshwater, and 8g in saltwater, reflecting how the aluminum ring's effective weight changes with water buoyancy. These figures help divers estimate how the ring affects overall camera rig balance underwater.
