Product Information
The Garmin Tacx Nera is a direct drive smart trainer with built-in forward, backward and side-to-side motion, measuring power and cadence to within 1 percent and generating up to 2200 watts with simulated grades up to 20 percent. It is offered in two versions: one with a pre-installed Shimano/SRAM 11-speed cassette, and a Zwift-ready version supplied with a pre-installed Zwift Cog and a Zwift Click controller for virtual shifting.
Built-in Wi-Fi keeps the connection to compatible training apps stable, and Race Mode prioritizes fast response during virtual races; ANT+ and Bluetooth are supported as well, and the trainer can relay Bluetooth heart rate sensors. Paired with the Tacx Alpine gradient simulator (sold separately) it supports simulated climbs up to 25 percent and descents to -10 percent, with virtual steering in compatible apps such as Tacx Training and Zwift.
Setup is guided step by step in the Tacx Training app, where Garmin Coach plans built in Garmin Connect can also be ridden. The Nera needs no calibration, folds to a 629 x 408 mm footprint with a built-in carry handle, and fits road, gravel and mountain bikes with quick release (130 and 135 mm) or thru axles (142 x 12 and 148 x 12 mm).
