Product Information
The Fusion Apollo Marine Amplifiers are Class D marine audio amplifiers offered in five configurations: a 650-watt RMS monoblock, a compact 2-channel zone amplifier, and 4-, 6- and 8-channel models rated at 150 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms. Garmin specifies them for use with Fusion DSP-enabled marine audio equipment, where they add power beyond what a head unit's internal amplifier can supply.
Every model uses Fusion's Easy Tune feature to regulate audio settings automatically, so audio settings do not need manual adjustment. A built-in LED indicator reports potential problems with current, short circuits or temperature, the circuit boards are conformal coated against the marine environment, and the design is ignition protected to SAE J1171. The amplifiers are 2-ohm stable, which allows two speakers per channel, and the multichannel models bridge to 580 watts RMS per channel pair using the included high-power-mode adapters.
The monoblock is intended to drive a subwoofer, while the 4-, 6- and 8-channel units power multiple pairs of speakers, or speakers plus a subwoofer. The zone amplifier is the smallest of the range at 3.94 x 3.94 x 1.57 inches and carries an IPX7 water rating, compared with IPX2 for the larger chassis. Each amplifier ships with a mounting bracket and is covered by a 3-year warranty.
