The Hollis Aluminum Backplate 2.0 is the foundation plate for Hollis technical harness systems, laser cut and CNC bent from 3mm EN AW 6061 aluminum and hard anodized marine-grade black. At 1.5 lb (0.68 kg) it is the lightweight choice for divers who want a backplate and wing rig they can fly with or dive in warm water without extra ballast.
Who it is for
This plate suits technical and recreational divers moving from a jacket BCD into a modular backplate and wing setup, and travel divers who need to keep baggage weight down. Because the Backplate 2.0 was designed with improved ergonomics and is short enough to fit smaller frame divers, it also works well for divers who have struggled with the length of older plates. In warm water and thin exposure suits, the aluminum version keeps the rig from being overweighted. A stainless steel version is also offered at 6.5 lb (3 kg), 4mm AISI 304.
