A semi-dry seals out water exchange almost like a drysuit while diving like a wetsuit. Same sealed semi-dry construction, different insulation. The 8/7/6mm is the cold-water suit — the one divers use to push wetsuit diving into temperatures where most people go dry. The 4/3mm brings the same semi-dry sealing to milder water: Hollis designed it for warm-water technical dives where long runtimes make exposure protection critical even though conditions are mild. If your dives are long and your water is cold, 8/7/6; long dives in warm-to-moderate water, 4/3.
