• DIN or Yoke. Confirm the connection type matches your cylinders and the fills available where you dive. Adapters exist, but it's cleaner to buy the right one.

• Nitrox and oxygen service. If you dive enriched air or decompression gas, confirm the regulator's rating and whether it has been oxygen cleaned. Don't assume.
