Scubapro Masks

SCUBAPRO Masks — From Tool-Free Optical Lenses to Ultra-Low-Volume Freediving

SCUBAPRO introduced the first frameless mask back in 1990, and the lineup has continued to refine fit, field of view, and optical customization ever since. From the everyday-practical Spectra through tool-free prescription lens changes on the Zoom and ultra-low-volume freediving masks built for serious depth, the range covers a genuinely wide spectrum of diving styles.

At DiveCatalog.com, we carry the current SCUBAPRO mask lineup as an authorized dealer.

The SCUBAPRO Mask Range

D-Mask — Second-Generation Trufit

The D-Mask uses SCUBAPRO's second-generation Trufit technology for a comfortable, genuinely watertight seal, with true-color UV-protective lenses and an interchangeable lens system. Rotating buckles and the Comfort Strap provide secure adjustment, and prescription lens compatibility supports custom vision correction. Available in two sizes with black or clear skirt options.

Zoom — Tool-Free Lens Changes

The Zoom's standout feature is a tool-free lens-change system that swaps lenses in under a minute — genuinely useful for on-the-spot optical adjustments. Supports replaceable optical lenses from -1.0 to -8.0 in 0.5 diopter increments, configurable for either eye independently to match your specific vision needs. Ultra Clear no-tint glass and a thicker, firmer silicone frame area add support and rigidity, with compatibility for the optional Comfort Strap, Bi-Focus lenses, and HUD mount.

Spectra — Everyday Reliability

The Spectra offers a wide view and comfortable water-blocking seal in a dual-lens, low-volume design, with Ultra Clear tempered glass lenses for safety and durability. An exclusive paint process adds visual style without compromising function, and the universal skirt fits a wide range of face shapes. Folds flat for travel, with a mirrored lens option available for glare-free underwater viewing.

Steel Pro — Ultra-Low-Volume Freediving

The Steel Pro is a compact, dual-lens, frameless mask built for freediving, with an extremely low internal volume to ease equalizing during descent and a premium high-grade silicone skirt for a lightweight, comfortable seal. Prescription lenses are not supported, keeping the design straightforward and minimal.

Steel Comp — Precision Freediving (Not for Scuba)

The Steel Comp shares the Steel Pro's frameless, ultra-low-volume design and ultra-clear, scratch-resistant lenses, with the added nuance that the bridge between the lenses can bend slightly under increasing water pressure, squeezing the mask tighter to the face as you descend — a deliberate freediving-specific behavior. Because of this characteristic, SCUBAPRO does not recommend the Steel Comp for scuba diving; it's purpose-built for freediving and competitive depth disciplines.

Frequently Asked Questions — SCUBAPRO Masks

Why is the Steel Comp not recommended for scuba diving?

As water pressure increases with depth, the bridge between the Steel Comp's lenses bends slightly and squeezes the mask tighter against the face — a deliberate behavior for freediving's deep, brief profiles, but not appropriate for the sustained depths and durations of scuba diving. SCUBAPRO is explicit about this distinction.

What is the diopter range available on the Zoom?

The Zoom supports replaceable optical lenses from -1.0 to -8.0 in 0.5 diopter increments, and each eye can be configured independently to match different prescriptions in each eye.

What is Trufit technology?

Trufit is SCUBAPRO's mask seal and fit engineering approach, refined into its second generation on the D-Mask, designed to deliver a comfortable, genuinely watertight seal across a range of face shapes.

Can I get prescription lenses for the Spectra or Steel Pro?

The D-Mask and Zoom support prescription lens compatibility. The Steel Pro and Steel Comp do not support prescription lenses by design, keeping their freediving-focused construction minimal. Contact us if you're unsure which model fits your needs.
