Product Information

The Suunto Zoop Novo Wrist Dive Computer presents essential dive data on a bright backlit display, supporting scuba and diving activities with clear, at-a-glance readability.

Designed for both new divers and experienced enthusiasts, it covers essential scuba and diving gear needs with multiple modes—air, nitrox, gauge, and freedive—and includes a built-in dive planner and the Suunto RGBM deep-decompression algorithm. Detailed graphical logs and dive data can be viewed on a PC or Mac via Suunto DM5 software (cable sold separately). An apnea timer supports freediving, with timers available in air and nitrox modes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need my own dive computer?

A dive computer tracks the actual depth and time profile you have dived and the tissue loading that follows from it, which is personal to you. A rented computer has no record of your recent diving, and swapping models each trip means relearning the display and menus when you should be focused on the dive. Owning one you know well is a genuine safety and comfort improvement.

Can two divers share one dive computer?

No. A computer only tracks the profile of the diver actually wearing it, and even buddies who stay together do not follow identical depth and time profiles. Every diver needs their own computer, and passing one between divers or between dives is unsafe.

What does conservatism mean on a dive computer?

Conservatism settings make the computer's calculations more cautious, shortening allowed bottom times and adding margin beyond the base algorithm. Divers commonly add conservatism for factors such as cold, hard work, fatigue, or repetitive multi-day diving. How and when to adjust it is covered by your training and your computer's manual, so set it before you get in the water and follow what your computer tells you during the dive.

What kind of battery does a dive computer use?

Broadly there are two types: user-replaceable batteries, often a coin cell that you or a shop swap along with resealing an o-ring, and sealed rechargeable batteries that charge from a cable or dock. Neither is universally better, as replaceable cells are convenient on remote trips while rechargeables avoid ever opening the case. Follow the manual exactly for any battery change, because an improperly seated o-ring or case is the usual cause of a flooded computer.

Do I need to do anything special for altitude diving or flying after diving?

Yes, both change the picture, and both are governed by your training agency's guidance and your computer's instructions rather than any casual rule of thumb. Many computers have an altitude setting that must be configured before diving at elevation, and most display a no-fly or surface-interval countdown after a dive. Follow your computer and your training, and ask a dive professional or a dive-medicine specialist if you are unsure.

How do I care for a dive computer?

Rinse it in fresh water after every dive day, paying attention to the buttons and around any sensor openings where salt crystals form, and let it dry fully before storing. Keep it out of prolonged direct sun and extreme heat, and avoid pressing buttons while sand is on the case. Inspect the strap or bungee often, because a failed strap loses far more computers than a failed computer does.

What is the difference between wrist, console, and air-integrated dive computers?

A wrist computer is worn like a watch and read by raising your arm, while a console computer sits at the end of a hose with your other gauges. Air integration means the computer also displays cylinder pressure, either through a hose or from a wireless transmitter on the first stage, and often estimates remaining gas time. All of them run a decompression algorithm, so the real difference is where you read the information and how much of it you get.

This dive computer features a large, easy-to-read display ideal for beginner to intermediate recreational divers. Customers praised its simplicity, reliability, and value, saying it's "easy to use" with "all the features needed." Some noted buttons can be hard to press with wet gloves, the strap runs long, and setup instructions could be clearer. One unit failed after 11 months.

Everything functions intuitively, and as expected. Typical Finnish design! Bought two, used on one dive trip, and can't wait to get back out there!

My faithful go to....

I have an air integrated primary computer that does everything. I can ditch that whole system and still be in the game. There is no other dc I'd rather have. This dc does everything a recreational diver needs. In fact, I've lent this out to other people that's had problems with their rig.

This my second Zoop. Love it

My eyesight isn't what it was so I wanted another computer that had larger display but not break the bank buying it.

,,,,,,,,,,The previous one worked great so why change brands

This product is very difficult to set up,

The product was purchased because it had a button to light up the dial at night. I have found it very difficult to set up the standard nitrox and amount, A settings and P settings. The book that came with it was so long and so short on details I have just given it to a dive guide to set up. Each modle should should have a one or 2 page with illustrations. Not 10 pages with no illustrations. Using internet films is no help to me, they go to fast and I'm hard of hearing.

Easy to use

I bough the Zoop Novo after the pressure gauge died in my Gekko, hoping to get another 10 years with my dive computer. Like the Gekko the menues take a little time to get used to, but I have not yet needed reading the manual. The numbers are nice and big, more readable than the Gekko. Nice long rubber strap, feels very sturdy. This will be my diving buddy for hopefully many years:)

awesome dive computer

Very user friendly, easy to read large display even at 130ft. I have 71 dives and 50 hours on this watch and it has worked extremely well. Very good battery life, I haven't even had to change it yet and I have been diving with it for over a year.

Incredibly user friendly dive computer. Love the large display with my 60 year old eyes that need magnification for everything. Has all the right features of any great dive computer.

Simple, reliable, easy to use.

There is a reason why Suunto Zoops are used by dive shops and charter operators around the world - they are reliable, easy to use, last forever and the battery is easy to replace. Can't go wrong on this dive computer for recreational diving.

Great and Reliable

It has all you need for your dive, either diving with air or nitrox or even free dive.

,,,,,,,,,,However if you intend to wear it as your primary watch then you should consider another watch size model.

Easy to use with all the features needed for new to intermediate divers

An essential piece of diving kit. The computer is easy to use once you have read the quick guide and familiarised yourself with the manual. I am an avid fan of Suunto initially with their running computers T5, then an Ambit2, now a Spartan, so the choice for me was natural. Putting my positive bias aside this is a feature packed unit and maybe the only dive computer you will ever need. So far I have made in excess of 30 dives with no problems.

Easy to use dive computer which makes diving safer and more fun

I got this computer to do my PADI open water cert dives. My instructor told me the only piece of gear I had to buy was a dive computer. For a relatively low price this computer made diving easier and safer and allowed me to concentrate on all of the other skills I needed to master. Really great piece of kit!

,,,,,,,,,,

,,,,,,,,,,The only niggles are the manual could be clearer and downloading the DM5 software on my Mac was a faff.

Just what I needed - Zoop Novo

Borrowed my sister-in-laws last year for PADI OW course. Bought 2 this year for my son and I as we completed AOW course. They are great - love the large font which is esay to read on day and night dives. Works straight out of the box. Are large and snag when getting arm in to BCD, but wear with face on inside of wrist to avoid this - and is easier to read when diving.
