I’ll begin with this: I know several dry suit divers in New Hampshire who use this BCD for diving in the ocean, so it’s not limited to travel and tropical diving. I am a huge fan of this BCD. It makes scuba far more enjoyable.
The comfort is phenomenal. Fits like a glove. You hardly feel it, at least until you add a tank and weights. I’m usually a Medium but I bought a Large, which fits my 5’7”, 180 pound frame very well. My waist is 34-inches. I could fit a Medium but want size for dry suit.
It is remarkable for travel. The included bag is very high quality and can be carried onto an airplane easily. You can fit the size Large BCD, a full regulator/hose setup, your mask and more into the bag. I will still carry a few more items in my checked bag, especially the dive knife, my boots and a hangar.
If you ever traveled with a vest-style BCD, your life is about to change!
The optional, smaller weight pockets are very nice, but I exchanged them for the larger (standard) pockets to give me greater flexibility. I also chose the standard inflator because I already own a second regulator.
There are copious attachment points, and the hydrophobic material is a huge plus for anyone, traveling or not, it’s great to have dry equipment. I realize that this is a lot to pay for a BC, but you get a lot with this product. ScubaPro did an amazing job thinking of every detail, and you will be very happy with one of these.
