I've tried only a few other fins I can compare these to - standard Go Sports, full foot Jet Clubs, and Aqualung Storm) - but these have been my favorite of the bunch. They are light and short enough for easy storage and travel, but stiff enough for good propulsion and maneuverability under water.
The Aqualung Storm are similar in intended design, but the foot pocket on those is not explicitly designed for dive boots. They were advertised for bare feet or boots but the hex texture under the soles of your feet is horribly uncomfortable. They're also softer in flex than the SP GoSport Gorilla, so they're probably more comparable to the standard SP Go Sport. The standard Go Sports are softer flexing and have a lighter-duty bungee and I guess are intended for calmer conditions and ounce-conscious travelers but tbh, I'm not sure why ScubaPro offers both products when they're so similar.
The GOrilla seems superior in every way, and really isn't *so* much stiffer that I could see divers struggling with them. I really appreciate how much of your boot sole is covered by the bottom of the foot pocket, as it feels really supportive. The underside is also textured well with a nice tread to mitigate slipping on a boat deck. The open toe box area can accommodate different boot styles, and I find Bare boots and SP boots fit really well with it (the SP slightly better as you'd expect). The swappable colored skeg pieces is kinda neat I guess, especially as the Gorilla is only offered in 2 to 3 different colors. I swapped to the teal skegs on my orange fins and they look really cool, but it's sort of a dumb extra purchase tbh. What would be really interesting is if they offered stainless steel skegs to reduce the fin's buoyancy, though they'd probably charge like $40 for those...
Overall though, I'm really happy with these fins and though they are pretty expensive (classic SP tax), they're good quality, and should last awhile at least.
