I've only done 7 dives with this computer and so far it has been pretty great. I am a fan of larger screens like the shearwater peregrine but this blows that out of the water when it comes to brightness and clarity. However it does lack in some departments.
PROS:
- Very bright screen and easy to read display.
- Button layout is easy to navigate through the menus
- Suunto App shows a lot of data including your dive route ( you can also connect it to the STRAVA app but that app is limited in Scuba data)
- You can customize the layout to see what you want to display.
- Integrated flashlight is an awesome feature
- Battery life is very good (1-2% reduction per 2 dives in my use)
CONS
- If you have an abnormal tank (LP 2400) there is no setting at this moment to choose your specific tank
- If you swap the screen orientation, that setting will reset everytime you power the device off (If you swap to left hand use it'll revert back)
- The textile strap is easy to put on but gets loose overtime and there is only so much strap to use before it covers the screen/ you run out of the male end. I recommend the bungee
Overall the cons can be fixed, it's just a matter of Suunto fixing these issues. But regardless, the computer is performing very well and is definitely an attention grabber. I've had a couple people asking me about it post dives because they saw how easy to read it was while we were underwater. Time will tell how this computer holds up but this is my number one pick and I highly recommend this watch for recreational diving.
