The PADIยฎ Rescue Diver course helps divers develop stronger skills and greater confidence underwater. It teaches you to recognize and manage small problems before they escalate, while providing engaging and practical training that many divers consider their favorite course.

- Prerequisites: Adventure Diver/Junior Adventure Diver (or equivalent) with completed Underwater Navigation Dive; EFR Primary and Secondary Care training (or equivalent) within the past 24 months

There is no strict minimum number of dives required, but itโs recommended to have at least 20 dives to ensure sufficient experience and confidence. Current CPR and first aid certification is also required, or you can complete the Emergency First Response (EFR) course as part of the program. A Rescue Diver is trained to manage and prevent dive emergencies, assisting other divers while maintaining safety for themselves and their dive buddies. They learn to recognize stress, respond to emergencies, and administer first aid and CPR, gaining confidence in handling challenging underwater situations. The course can be challenging, as it shifts focus from personal skills to the safety of others. Divers learn to anticipate and resolve issues before they escalate, practice rescue techniques, and build skills that become second nature, improving overall competence and confidence. Rescue diversโ earnings vary widely based on experience, location, and type of work. Salaries can range from approximately ยฃ25,200 to over ยฃ100,000 per year, with higher pay for specialized roles like offshore or saturation diving. During activities like superyacht wreck searches, divers are typically limited to around 12 minutes underwater, with about 10 minutes spent actively searching.
